| Joel Herskowitz, MD
Joel Herskowitz returns to Boston Medical Center with a sense that
“everything old is new again.” Trained in Pediatrics
and Child Neurology at Boston City Hospital in the ‘70s, Dr.
Herskowitz spent nearly two decades at New England Medical Center’s
Division of Pediatric Neurology before returning “home”.
Living at the interface between pediatrics, neurology, and psychiatry,
he has found learning and attentional problems to be his clinical
niche. Dr. Herskowitz has authored or co-authored several books
including Pediatrics, Neurology and Psychiatry - Common Ground:
Behavioral, Cognitive, Affective and Physical Disorders in Childhood
and Adolescence, written in collaboration with N. Paul Rosman, and
a book on Childhood Depression.
“Each member of the Division has an area of special expertise,”
he said. “But I feel a tremendous spirit of teamwork and cooperation
not just among medical and nursing personnel but among the office
support staff as well.” Dr. Herskowitz added “It is
a privilege to receive referrals from the many excellent pediatricians
who practice in the Greater Boston area. I believe we do an excellent
job in meeting the needs of their patients and their families and
earning their continued support.” His practice at Boston Medical
Center includes satellite sessions in Framingham and Milford Massachusetts.
